Bowling For Rhinos!
Jul. 17th, 2008 05:37 amNo, I'm not going to ask you for money again! I will say, THANK YOU!!! toneveryone who donated again, and let me add a hearty thank you to ZB and JG who donated in the second wave. Because of all your support, we had the most successful Bowling For Rhinos event in the history of the New England chapter of AAZK. We raised 500 dollars more than the last record.
The bowling was fun, despite the fact that we used inferior large balls instead of native New England Candlepins. The team I played on--The Pinheads--was thoroughly trounced. But one of our team members did bring home the prize for having the single lowest score of the night, (44) so we have that going for us. I bowled a 96, which is solidly in 'laughable' territory. Alexis managed to break a hundred, and even got 3 strikes.
The winning team was Snakes on a Lane, who in my opinion won the moment they named themselves that. They were composed of keepers from Southwick's Zoo, and it was great to have them there. There was also a team from the Aquarium, and from one of our construction contractors.
We got a handful of pictures from the night (thanks to Alexis) and if the official ones show up on line I'll link to those as well.
