We arrived in Penzance, famous because of Gilbert and Sullivan, and left the car under this gull so we could find it again. After checking into the Longboat Inn on Market Jew Street, we decided to head to Land's End while we still had daylight.

Getting from Penzance to Wales was a simple matter of crossing half the country on narrow tunnels through the trees. Quite beautiful if you aren't thinking about the inches of clearance between your car, oncoming traffic, and the wall on the other side (solid shoulder, I believe they called it). As British understatement and subtlety appears to extend to road signage, we got lost again. Whilst trying to find a place to turn around we blundered into Dartmoor (or perhaps someplace else--need to check that one with Dad. Anyway, carry on!)
