My dad sends a letter just about monthly to a small mailing list. In the most recent one he surprised me by quoting Keith Richards, on why he doesn't retire (a question many people ask my dad, who has been teaching for more than 50 years): "I don't think they quite understand what I get out of this. I'm not doing it just for the money or for you. I'm doing it for me."

These tracks were most probably made by a Leucopus mouse, but this evidence is a little too tenuous to count for my project. Suffice it to say, there are small hopping rodents in Dedham.
