So cute. I had a few turtles when I was little. One of them was named Turtley. Apparently, I wasn't an over imaginative child when it came to pet names.

Did it happen early enough that you manged to catch any of it? (the spotted salamander migration)

I haven't looked at my pictures close-up yet, but I saw three salamanders and others saw six or seven. It was the first steady rain we've had in about two weeks, and they were rarin' to go.

There has been a painted turtle nest in the same place (in front of a buliding full of teacher-naturalists) for the past two years. Someone noticed the hole opening up, I suppose. By the time I got there, there were a dozen people gathered around watching the babies come out.
