urbpanAfter last night's allergy attack (still wheezing!) I don't have the energy to write anything profound or meaningful. Maybe you'd like to look at some pictures?
These are from my day at work, Friday. Above is our Turkey Vulture, Orville. He spends the warm months on exhibit, and then is taken off exhibit when it starts to snow. It started to snow on Friday.

This is the vernal pool in the old deer enclosure, as it was snowing just a little.
A couple hours later, and this is the pond in the "new" deer enclosure (they've been in there for 6 years or so, and still it's the "new" deer enclosure). The enclosure is 2 acres, and the deer have their choice of whether they are visible or not.

Rudy is surprisingly intolerant of the cold. He will lay on his feet to keep them warm if it's below freezing. On this day he let himself back into his night enclosure (indoors) on his own.
She didn't quite know what to make of the snow. This is a one year old Red-tailed hawk that we are taming down for educational program use. She is blind in her right eye (and therefore unreleaseable).
She did such a good job, she gets a treat!
