Dude, I stepped outside this morning and went "woo!" (grimacing). It was in the fifties.

You need to pick somewhere in the Southwest US or Texas or the deep South. :) Even San Diego is probably going to be too moderate for you, anything on the west coast is usually cold.

50s is a great low temperature for summer! It means your house stays cool all the time -- no need for AC!

[identity profile] cottonmanifesto.livejournal.com 2006-08-03 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
i don't like to use the AC during the day unless it's above 90 - and even then, these past two days when i've been home, i've been leaving the AC off (unless i'm trying to sleep and the dogs' panting is keeping me awake). tuesday night was really hot (80s) and we had the AC on for jef's dad in the bedroom. i was out in the hallway putting together shelves and jef said, "shouldn't you wait until the house is actually on fire before you do that? it'd be more comfortable." :)

i was sweaty, but it wasn't a big deal. :)

Heh. Yeah, I did a ton of cleaning yesterday around the house, since my computer was complaining of the heat. I realized that most people would have thought I was crazy, but natural, summer heat simply doesn't bother me. (Manufactured heat, though drives me crazy, though. I like it cold when the weather is cold and hot when the weather is hot. None of this silly fighting against nature for me!)

I went to the hospital today (to apply for free care) and I told the lady in the office that it was like a refridgerator in there...

they have the temp up at 78 at the dana farber to save electricity!

[identity profile] bloolark.livejournal.com 2006-08-04 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I would be actually, physically dead. Seriously. I think 78 is too hot. If it hits 80, I break a sweat. I'm terrible about that sort of thing. :)

Which is probably why I live here.

it's supposed to be perfect here on saturday, low of 65, high of 83 and sunny.

it seems so beautiful up there but ... brrrrrr!!!!

The gull ruffling at the crow made me laugh!

[identity profile] ms-cantrell.livejournal.com 2006-08-03 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
that crow is tiny. they're much bigger over here on the east side, usually about as big as the seagulls. the EMP (experience the music project) is one of my favorite buildings, ever. the music part doesn't do much for me, but i like the building, and the sci-fi museum is entertaining.

These entries are making me miss Seattle so much! (I was born & grew up there, but I've been moving around for a while now.)

Are they herring gulls? Ha, that big mean one is going to SWALLOW that crow :D

[identity profile] urbpan.livejournal.com 2006-08-03 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
They appear to be glaucous-winged gulls.
