We saw tons and tons of blackberry brambles in Seattle--it's actually a sidewalk weed there. We found a bunch still in flower, and the flowers were pink (I'm used to seeing white flowers on blackberry).
Those are Himalayan blackberries. They take over vacant lots and are MEAN-- our regional government hires a guy with goats to keep them down. (Apparently the goats don't mess up streams like machinery would.) There's a native Cascade blackberry, too, but it tends to get crowded out.
