Subways
Just got a link from
smallerdemon (by way of metafilter).
Beautiful subways from around the world.
Not surprising: Tons of European subways.
Surprising: Tehran, Pyongyang, Los Angeles.
Nice to see: Ones I've been on: Boston, Washington, Santiago.

Way cool. Even though Subways should be creepy, not beautiful. Has CHUD taught architects nothing?!!
btw- doesn't really count as a subway, but here's some shots of a (now abandoned) undergound city beneath Moscow built during the Cold War:

Chicago and Paris have similar above ground but elevated above the ground (although most of Paris' is underground). It's good enough for me, though. :) I love both of them.
I've been to Vienna, D.C., Portland (hooray for being represented!), Paris (and yes, that system is overall one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen - one of the most enjoyable parts of our trip to Paris was just riding the subway), New York, (I have, in fact, been in that very station with cool floor sculptures), London.
These photos only wet my appetite for travel even more (not that it hasn't already become unquenchable).
