A break from news
Sep. 4th, 2006 11:15 amHow about some bat pics? The other evening, while
cottonmanifesto and I were walking the dogs, we encountered a bat flying in a figure 8 pattern that involved a large oak tree near the path. Part of its trajectory was so low, and so consistent, that we couldn't resist trying to photograph an animal that otherwise is nearly impossible to catch--at least with our meager equipment.

Bat adventures
Date: 2006-09-04 07:56 pm (UTC)When you get a lot of bats inside the house, though, it becomes more of a task, although it can also be an adventure. We had tennis rackets to dispatch the bats that came into our place in Canada, and one night, as I was shining the flashlight on two bats, one inside the window-screen in our bedroom, and another outside the screen, our cat became a player and took care of the bat on the inside.
