Oh my god, I LOVE store cats!! I am more likely to browse and/or shop in a store with a resident cat than one without one!

The courthouse in Post Office Square had a cat who belonged to the woman who ran the little gum/candy stand inside. Mitzi's bed was always next to the Coke machine - once I even noticed she had a new bed, probably a gift from someone who worked in the building. Mitzi always made my trips there more fun, considering they were never actually fun - I was always going to file or retrieve some boring papers for work when I worked at the law firm.

One day, it was on the local news that Mitzi had died. They were interviewing people about it, and one guy, who looked like a lawyer or some other legal official, was crying. That's how much that cat was loved and how much of a Boston V.I.P. she was. Yet another way that animals affect people's daily lives and brings us together, even if we don't really notice it at the time.

Store cats are great. And I'm always happy to have your pictures coming at me for the week! Can't get enuff of them!
