Weather at work
The weather in the Northeast was unpleasant, but not homicidal, as it was elsewhere in America today. Here are some pictures from my day.

The garden, flooded.

The parking lot, flooded. (not pictured: the poultry house, flooded. the aviary, flooded. the cow barn, flooded. etc.)

The Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch showed up to entertain us--no, wait! That's me, modeling the new animal handling gloves this morning, before I went out and got myself soaked.

This is also me, waiting for my pants to come out of the dryer, having some hot chocolate.

In the afternoon, the rain abated, the temperature jumped up, and fog swallowed up the place. Compare with this one.

This is the tree I have a crush on. (also seen here)

And then the building where I work. (also seen here)

I'm sure if it saw you in your towel it would have a crush on you too.

(Though I shouldnt be laughing. My basement is flooding. I'm going to be wearing that miserable look if the water down there continues to rise.)

Actually, now that I've said that, I'm not completely sure I've never done anything similar, either with raptor handling gloves or the (very similar) gloves used to handle theatrical lighting instruments when they heat up.
