May is the return of beauty

This past Sunday we took the dogs around Olmsted Park.

My favorite view of Leverett Pond returns.

Another nice view of it, from the Boston side (where someone has tossed a trash can into the water) toward the Brookline side.

A nice cluster of oyster mushrooms. (Pleurotus sp.)

Later on, I rode my bike up river to the Fenway, and balanced some rocks--those pictures come later. ;)

She could sign up for my Urban Nature Walk list (it's a little less involved than setting up an lj acct): http://groups.yahoo.com/group/urbannaturewalk/

Boston can be a hard place to meet people; we can be quite standoffish. What kind of "interesting people" does she want to meet?

Weel, she thinks she is pretty mainstream, then she goes out and tries to meet people and finds out that she isn't as mainstream as she thought...

She's originally from Colorado but went to the same Minnesota college as my husband (so she should be used to stand-offish people.) She used to be an associate professor of sociology here but she left the acedemic world and now you have her in Boston. That doens't really answer your question.
