A group called Studios Without Walls is having an art exhibition in the Riverway for the next week or so. This is part of one of the better pieces. While I love art in the outdoors, for some reason this exhibit is hard to photograph.

Here's a rock balance at Ward's Pond, with Charlie swimming in the background. I set this one up repeatedly, as various people, animals, and things kept knocking it down.

This is in the Riverway--but another view might be better:

You can see the reflection of another of the "Studios without walls" pieces (one that there's a picture of on their website) as well as a black-crowned night-heron that I didn't even know was there when I was balancing.

I love the last picture, with the art, the heron and the balanced rocks, and the reflections in the water.

I photographed The Gates in Central Park a few years ago. It was February and while some of the pictures were interesting (the orange of the sunset mingling with the saffron fabric of The Gates) most of it just looked odd. It was interesting, and sometimes even beautiful to look at, but my photos didn't do it justice. I blame my little disposable camera!

These are nice though.
