Bike ride urban nature

I rode to the zoo yesterday morning (as part of my project to get into shape to return to bicycle commuting) and it only took 20 minutes! We'll see how it goes when there's traffic to deal with, too. On the return trip I saw a big bird on a street sign, and momentarily assumed it was someone's art. I stopped and looked back, and saw a couple of mockingbirds harassing this juvenile red-tailed hawk:

The Green Street subway station is behind the hawk. The hawk is looking up at his antagonists.

Date: 2007-07-30 12:50 am (UTC)I'm on the Green line (Longwood/Brookline Village) so public transportation seems like it would be pretty annoying. The drive is only ten minutes, but I'm planning on trying to bike as often as I can.
