On this day in 365 Urban Species: Ash Tree Bolete. These mushroom posts are starting to make me sad. If it doesn't rain a whole lot in the next three weeks, my mushroom class won't have much to go on.

I know! Usually whatever was in Chicago a few days ago comes to Boston. All your rain seems to disappear (or go north of us) before hitting Massachusetts. Apparently we're nowhere near drought conditions, but August was our second driest ever, and we're going to pay for it with tiny expensive apples and pumpkins.
