The weekend crew gets to choose!

Hey, I haven't been assigned a topic for the Urban Nature Abecedarium for the letter "H" yet, so it falls upon you guys. I'll tally the responses sometime tomorrow, I guess. So far two people have suggested four topics: Hawks, Hornets, Homing Pigeons and Hanta Virus. Someone also suggested Humans, but I wrote about those guys recently here.

I'm putting in an early vote for Ichneumon for the next time, but let's first concentrate on "H."

Hoary bat - Hawaii's only species of bat. Now that's a double H whammy! :)

House Mice could be interesting. Or House Spiders, maybe? My first instinct is to vote for Hornets, but if you do Ichneumon for the next one, would that be too many Hymenopterans? There's another H for you...

I'm not familiar with Hanta virus, so I'd definitely be interested in that!

Can you ever have too many hymenopterans? I suppose it they're yellowjackets swarming around your head, or if you're buried in an anthill.
