I had the day off today, and at 3:00 Alexis had just come home for lunch. (In case you are wondering, my t-shirt is Fancy Froglin, supporting the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.)

It was a beautiful crisp and sunny fall day. We've actually been very lucky this fall. This October was Boston's 4th warmest ever (I'm so conflicted about facts like that). In other years there wouldn't be hardly any leaves to speak of by November. Tomorrow's Nor'easter ought to blow the rest of the pretty off the trees. They're predicting up to 5 inches of rain and winds up to 50 miles per hour. Here Alexis is making her picture of the day.

Then Alexis went to work and I took the dogs home. Even the invasive Norway maple forest looks pretty on a day like today.

Then I went off to run some errands. First to the library, and then to the Stop & Shop, which reopened today. I walked in as a professional photographer was setting up to take a picture of the ribbon cutting.

Then I set off to get my hair cut. This place had a nice doorway, but the line was too long.

So I went here instead. 12 dollar crew cuts!

Then to the post office to finally send [livejournal.com profile] purplebunnie_ her package, and then to Allston to the liquor store. Tomorrow's weather calls for some Bailey's. I also bought a bottle of "Nor'easter" bourbon, distilled in New England! (Nantucket) As I passed my friend's Tattoo parlor I had to get a shot out the window.

Alexis likes my haircut. (She also coached me how to pose so I don't show my double chins!)

On this day in 365 Urban Species, a bit of an oddity: devil's walkingstick.

Thanks! Mostly, I have to not look down, and sort of tilt my chin forward.

Ha ha! I love that T-shirt. I have two other CBLDF tees, the Hulk one and the Strangers in Paradise one.

If you just do plain old crew cuts, I have an electric hair trimmer my former roommate left behind that I can send you, if you want it.

Is my memory for faces even worse than I think, or do you look different in every single picture I've ever seen of you?

If you'll allow me to say, you two make a really cute couple.
