Oh, I know this artist! She used to work in a studio on the south side of Bernal Heights in San Francisco, a few blocks from where I lived. She moved back east - now you can buy her work! That's awesome. I hope she still keeps selling here, though! I bought a pair of stick-insect mugs for my zookeeper friend here in SF a year or so back.
The artist also makes all sorts of other pottery, dishes, you name it.
Ah ha! That's right! I KNEW I had seen this somewhere. It was at "The Shop" that was in Cole Valley (sadly closed now). It is amazing stuff. I was really scratching my head wondering where I had seen it and then you mentioned it. We have several pieces of art from The Shop.
Are you still an SFer or does the "bicoastal" name imply the obvious that you go back and forth?
*heh* I have noticed that. East Coasters tend to actually want to go back and visit. Transplanted Southerners mainly want to go back and visit for BBQ and then get right back on the plane. :)

It's the bug on the bottom.
