The view out our smudgy window.
Okay, as much as I hate snow and all things winter, today was still and warmish, and things were very very beautiful out there. I walked around Leverett Pond with Charlie, trying to find Alexis and Maggie who had just finished up Dog School.

Leverett Pond is mostly frozen over. The dry plants in the foreground are purple loosestrife.

A great blue heron rests on a small island in the pond.

The far end of the pond, where water flows into it, is not frozen.

I like the shadows of the trees on the snow on the pond.

This is a recurring theme in my photos, the pond viewed lengthwise.
