Now why would a Republican administration try to interfere with a STATE'S RIGHT to make it's own fuel efficiency standards?

I don't know... Usually they're all for tState's Rights. That's a Conservative battle flag form pre-civil war times (in fact, mostly what the civil war was about, IMHO.)

I mean it makes sense, especially in the western states where the air is so bad.

Maybe they feel that the highest bidding corporation would be better prepared to set national fuel efficiency standards. After all, they're against big government.

And they've been against states' rights to limit guns from the get-go.
