Noticing the Year: 01/02/08

I first noticed these mushrooms a week ago. The ice is preserving them, and giving them a nice shiny coating.

Also, with the snow melted off him, the crocodile really looks like he's made of wood:

It's gotta be a joke. I don't know any reptile, let alone a crocodile, that can tolerate snow. It's a statue, admit it!

On closer inspection I see the eyes are blank. And I've never seen a croc with woodgrain.
