I didn't really like that quiz. I scored 36% republican or something....

lol, as an eight percent republican... I was pretty amused by all that... But... Also kind of going "well, what do you want me to say?!"

Odd quiz.

Hmm. well that was pointless

For the record, 33% Republican. Not that it matters. It's a bogus quiz. I'm almost certain there's no set of answers that will score you 0% Republican, and a lot of the question are of the Have-you-stopped-beating-your-wife variety.

I am definitely not a republican.

According to my score of -4% (that would be 4 below 0), I am a commie. I would have gotten far below that but the quiz creator doesn't offer any answers that include real peace processes. As for my real political bent, I'd say I was a Frances Moore Lappé, Open Source Democracy fan.

Oh, and what's up with people calling these silly quiz and survey things "memes"? That really sort of degrades the term, which generally refers to big social, political, or religious ideas that really resonate within the collective conscious. (Things like "You're either with us or you're against us!" or Flower Children are good examples of memes.)

I resisted the new meaning of "meme" in blogspeak for as long as I could. In order to be understood, I have come to accept some jargon, even if it means spoiling a great new word. I think it's okay, now, and we can still use the word in its original meaning.

It degrades the term in the same way that saying someone or something is "from hell" degrades the concept of hell, for example, but the original meaning of hell is intact.
