edited to add
unusual word combination -- giggly wire. it's in the picture.
(okay so it's spelled gigli, but that doesn't make it any less ridiculous)
extra edited to add
the vet staff pronounced it giggly.

What does the red tape mean?

[identity profile] urbpan.livejournal.com 2008-04-17 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
it's so it can all be bundled together in a complete set. there are other sets with other colored tape, too.

omg im so glad to see tape somewhere else. the head tech where i work now REFUSES to get tape, she says it gets gunky and falls off. I used tape for 6 yrs where i used to work and we never had a problem! if you needed to replace the tape, you did, no biggie! The state of our packs currently makes me want to cry cuz nothing is the same, other than the basics.

/end rant.

anyway, its nice to see that im not insane in liking the tape. What were you surgerying?

today they were doing stuff to flamingos.

Stuff that needed to be done, or just, you know, stuff?

[identity profile] aemiis-zoo.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I see. We have some tools that are marked with random colored tape to indicate that they are to be used for non-surgical purposes (cutting down zip ties & things like that).

Yay, surgery! Are those a bunch of hemostats or towel clamps?

[identity profile] urbpan.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
yes, both

[identity profile] brush-rat.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Is it pronounced Geee lee, like the crappy Bennifer movie?

[identity profile] elainetyger.livejournal.com 2008-04-19 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, if it's an Italian name, Gigli would be pronounced like "JEE-lyee" (though American students might say "JEEL-yee")

Animal orthopaedics eh?

Is gigli a manufacturer's trademark name? It looks like embryotomy wire. Good for cutting through most anything biological, like antlers, for instance.
