Taken out the window of the tour bus in Yellowstone. Don't worry, I have a bunch of real pictures from the park, and starting tomorrow we're going to explore on our own. Today we took a "wildlife safari" tour which was pretty good: we got to see examples of most of the megafauna, and now we kind of know what to look for. Mostly you look for other cars stopped on the side of the road, and throngs of people with cameras and binoculars. If I was keeping a bird list I'd get to add prairie falcon and yellow-headed blackbird to it today. We saw ospreys and peregrine falcons both on their nests, and a golden eagle nest with no eagle visible. The elk, bison, and deer don't really care if people are around or not, and the bears are pretty blase as well. I'll show you later.
