You don't have to know anything about the Regency period in British history to enjoy Blackadder the Third, but one imagines that it wouldn't hurt. One of great things about British comedy is that they so often aim above the average American's head. I'll admit it, I missed a few jokes, but that could have been helped with some subtitles. The ones I caught were pretty damn funny, but some insult type jokes suffered from their great length, allowing the viewer to imagine the punchline long before it happens. For someone (like myself) not generally familiar with The Blackadder series, it was interesting to see Rowan Atkinson acting intelligent (and even ending up the winner!) and to see TV's House (Hugh Laurie) acting like a complete boob.

My favorite BlackAdder episode is when his Puritan aunt and uncle visit the night of the bachelor party. "That's funny, sir, b/c I have a thingy shaped like a..." Plus, the goblin song is the best song EVER!!!

I don't remember, but it may be the third. You can't beat boobie shirts and giant crosses!

Well, we just watched the whole third season and it wasn't in there. :(

I just checked online and it's the 2nd season (because the Queen is at the party, which I'd forgotten...).

Looks pretty interesting. I'd be shocked if they made it available to United Statesians.

It begins on Canadian TV soon.

It is Simpson's creator, Matt Groening's favourite show. He said he would incorporate it into The Simpsons somehow, whether he gets them to write an episode or have the characters make appearances. It will enter America that way.

If you like Hugh Laurie (and I do, but have never watched House- I have too many hour long dramas to watch...) check out 'Jeeves and Wooster.' Great stuff.

House is our only hour long drama, thank goodness.

Jeeves and Wooster is next in our queue!

Oh, it is so good. PG Wodehouse's words coming out the mouths of a comedy duo born and bred to the play the parts! Enjoy!

It was SO weird to watch House last night after watching so much Blackadder. Laurie is like a totally different person (and obviously an amazing actor).
