We came across a young man balancing rocks in the Riverway yesterday.
He declined when I asked if I could take his picture.
So if you find balanced rocks--it's not just me!

Been going on for aeons, just not quiet as "balancy" as these.

They are called "cairns" in the rest of the world.

Well, they're called cairns in the northern British Isles, inukshuk in northern Canada, ahus in Hawaii, Ishidoro in Japan, and so on and so forth. :)

It's a long tradition, but there aren't as many people doing it as there once were (though probably more in the past couple decades, thanks to people like Bill Dan and Lila Higgins).
