My beautiful lady

Apropos of not much, Alexis and I went to Flann's for brunch last Sunday.
She surprised me by ordering herself a very photogenic beer.
She's not so bad herself. :)

Flann O'Brien's decor, with its namesakes' famous quote (with the beertaps) and his portrait, as well as famous one from Mr. Wilde, and an autographed drumskin and photo from Ireland's current most famous artists.

Couple self-portrait.

Then we went up to nearby Puddingstone Park, where we encountered a Jim lookalike named Buster.

I realise that sort of dog is the one you mention often, but what sort of dog is it? Its so cute! I'm really really bad at dogs, I can only recognise about 3 species.

It's usually called a Boston Terrier. Many dog devotees just call them "Boston"s cause its shorter, and because they aren't really terriers. They are "bull terriers" or "bull-and-terriers" deriving their breeding from bulldog breeds and terrier breeds, like staffordshire bull terriers, English bull terriers, and American pit bull terriers.

The Boston terrier was the first purebreed dog to be developed in the United States, is the official state dog breed of Massachusetts, and is the mascot of the Boston University sports teams.

Sorry for the overlong answer to your simple question, but that's what I do!

Don't apologise, I appreciate it. I never would've guessed they were related to bull terriers.

When I eventually have a place of my own, I'd like a black labrador. An unoriginal choice, I know...

dogs that look like clones freak me out.

Ah.... beer. As I've said many a time, it's not just for breakfast anymore. There's a reference even i don't quite remember anymore.

Man! I'd never thought of it that way before.

it's just a personal thing, i don't expect everyone else to have the same problem. :)

Great photos. You guys are an adorably cute couple.

That was indeed a photogenic beer! Here is a whole set of photogenic beers from this past February's Strong Beer Month (http://flickr.com/photos/smdemon/sets/72157603926189177/).

How long did it take you to punch both cards? I would have been tempted to try it over a couple nights. ;)

HA! A while. This year my friend [livejournal.com profile] boson had four strong beers in one sitting the first night, with plenty of food. We rode the bus home together, and we separate and he walked home from my house. The next day he said "Ok, after you guys left things got really weird." As much as I LOVE beer, I am WAY too lightweight on drinking strong beer to try to do it over two days or I would be sick. It takes me a couple of weeks because I really love to savor and enjoy the strong beers and try them with paired food tastings.
