It's still dark out, but there's allegedly some snow. The sky is a strange reddish gray color. This week the nights have been warmer than the days owing to rogue air masses from Chicago slipping into the place in the darkness and roughing up our nice weather. Ah well, it is December, and it's almost winter! Nature note: one of the keepers yesterday pointed out that the stinging nettles is still green and lively (though it exists as little rosettes on the ground, not giant shrublike spiky monsters at the moment).

Yesterday's happy thing was cuddling with Alexis watching Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. (The cuddling was excellent. The movie was sometimes funny, but often crude without making it all the way to funny. At its best it resembled Blazing Saddles, and even stole one scene from that movie.)

EDIT: I just got back from walking Charlie and it's not snow, it's "wintry mix" which is a euphemism for a swear word so foul it hasn't been invented yet.

The problem is, you live too close to the coast, you get that crappy wintery mix stuff because of the warmer ocean waters. We have a nice coating of about 2 inches of light fluffy snow inland. It's quite pretty.

Yeah, I heard about that on the weather channel last night. It was the first time I have heard of Freezing Fog, Weird, I can imagine a layer of ice rime on everything. Did you get any pictures?

There was a nice coating of ice on the entire car--not just, say, the top and the windward side--this morning. The rear side windows look like they're made of pebbled glass.

Nary a flake of snow here in DC/Maryland. It's really true that it doesn't fully feel like the Christmas (Yule, solstice) season without snow. :-(

It was freezing here yesterday, but no precipitation this time. Today it's foggy and 50. Tomorrow it will be sunny and 75, according to the forecast.
