Dane Park, last Sunday

I can't believe it was only one week ago, but here's what Dane Park looked like when Charlie and I went there last Sunday.

The weather leading up to that day--heavy rain followed by a freeze--created these frozen drained puddles. The green here is garlic mustard.

Another frozen drained puddle.

I like finding old man-made objects and structures. I don't know what this brick and concrete basin or shaft used to be.

Now it's a safety hazard for rabbits.

maybe a safety hazard for small children as well. Can someone (you?) ask some public works place to make sure it's grated over to prevent any more accidents/deaths?

So do I. I really enjoy that.

We have a rain bucket in the backyard that turned out to be a hazard for squirrels this fall. It made me really really sad to have to fish out a rigor-mortis'ed squirrel. I love those little suckers.

I'd say "Poor bunny", but as an Australian I'm legally obligated to never use those words.

Glad you got out of there before Samara showed up!!
