One of them saw a vulnerability, or for some other reason got it in its head to kill the robin. Then it became "MINE!"

i have seen a "murder of crows" assault a squirrel, knocking it out of a tree, pinned it to the ground, and then they mobbed, and turned it into furry sushi morsels. kinda ... creepy.
