Dane Park Closed

Alexis went to Dane Park today and found that it's been fenced off. A sign says it will reopen in the Spring of 2010.

Are they doing some kind of major overhauls or is it part of the "this has been too trampled and we're gonna close it off for a few years to let it grow back" program that went over like a lead balloon at the National Parks?

There was an attempt a few years back to clean it up a little, and there were some signs explaining the unique geology of the place installed. I'm guessing someone got some stimulus money to finish it up, or at least clear the trails again.

DCR budget cuts. State's had to close parks all over. :(

it's closed for renovations. they're taking out invasives and planting natives, and also redoing the paths.
