Muddy River 06/10/09, 7:10 p.m.

I joined a walk held by the Muddy River Restoration Project Maintenance and Management Oversight Committee (MMOC). I learned a lot about my favorite body of water: what problems it suffers from, what solutions are in the mix, how very different it's going to look around here in the next few years. It made me glad I'm doing this project. Also that barrel everyone is so concerned about? I met a park ranger who is scheming to do something about it. It was also great to meet so many people (there were about 25 to 30 people at the peak of the walk) who are so concerned about the river and committed to their neighborhood open space and Olmsted's vision.

Oh, good! You have a lovely river there that is obviously enjoyed - and used - by lots of people, in addition to the wildlife.
