Trip to Boston

I took a rare trip (by bicycle, yet!) into Downtown Boston to meet my dad for lunch. He was chaperoning a group of students from his high school (from a town about 100 miles west). I got my first look at one of Boston's newest parks, the Rose Kennedy Greenway. It was a spectacular day, so I'm glad I saw as many of the city parks as I did.

It's very well-maintained, and the plantings have signs identifying the flowers and shrubs. It deserves a longer look some day, maybe an Urban Nature Walk.

I've always been fascinated by the Federal Reserve Building (Boston's third tallest skyscraper). I think it's so ugly it's beautiful.

My dad was out on a whale watch in the harbor. I wish I had a nice seat like this to wait for him.

Here comes his boat now!

We had lunch at the Black Rose.

I could barely fit the burger (covered in Irish cheddar) in my mouth. The Guinness 250 went down nicely.

We walked around a bit after lunch, heading over to Christopher Columbus Park, where my bike was locked up.

As I rode home, I passed Boston Common, and noticed a big crowd (the big blue slab is the Hancock Building, Boston's tallest skyscraper and the tallest building in New England).

It turned out to be a concert put on my MassCann the local cannabis law reform group. Good luck fellas!
