Tupelo, the baby tapir, went out on exhibit for about an hour today, for the first time. I shot a million pictures, none of which were any good. This one is pretty cute, though.


The hadada ibises were curious about why people were gathering.


I got my first good look at the Madagascar tree boas.


Saddle-billed stork.


Crested guinea fowl. She's the last one. She's very old and likes to hang out with the old warthog. Lately she's taken to standing on this rail all day long (or whenever I come by she's there).

love the tapir! what happened to the rest of the guinea fowl? and do you mean she is cold or old?

Yeah, what happened to the other guinea fowl? They were my kids favorite when he was a toddler as they were always pecking at the windows when he approached (but didn't harass!) and he thought they were wildly funny. Me, I love their feathers.
