Rat Information Portal.

....

Disgusting substance of the day:
Iodine solution, Muddy River muck. (TIE!)

You would think that Muddy River muck, a virulent brew of organic decay laced with pollution, would win hands down. But the iodine splashed into MY EYE. When I broke through the ice into ankle-deep muck, it quickly and harmlessly froze on my pants and boots rather than soaking through.

Haha! Not your misfortunes, that rat site! I thought the little rat that looks like it's running towards you on the "preventing rats" section was funny enough, then you go to click it and it moves its head! TOO CUTE!!

Great brochure the city puts out. Theirs is the expanded version of the rodent (usually mouse) lecture I give to food store, warehouse, and factory managers:
1. kill
2. clean up
3. fix holes

done in increasing order of emphasis required rather than chronological as in the brochure. Most places have exterminators but also have crumbs in crevices and tons of entry points and hidey-holes.

Dr Robert Corrigan, who I believe is the city's chief rat expert consultant, has given excellent lectures to state food inspectors on a variety of vermin.

I saw Bobby speak at the New England Pest Management Association conference. I found that website because I was hoping to find some of his teachings online. I'd love to hire him as a consultant, but I don't thing we can afford it. (Plus I have a pretty good idea of what he would say: stop feeding the animals on the ground, fix all these holes.)
