A red-tailed hawk wheels over a swampy part of the arboretum.


I was looking for color, and this was the best on display. A new-to-me species, paperbark maple Acer griseum, native to China.


While there I thought it would be good to climb the hill and see the skyline. Pretty. Damn cold, but pretty.
