friends of mine are looking into extending thier family and loved the Ice shot you posted the other day... i know the info is in here somewhere but to avoid feeling like a stalker i thought i should just ask.. "what breed are your beautiful dogs?"
Longer answer: Charlie (the black one standing on the ice) has been variously described as a "terrier mix" and a "lab mix," and his DNA test said he was a yorkshire terrier/boston terrier/german shepherd. He was confiscated from a home where he wasn't being treated well; he was probably bred from pit bulls, maybe to be a fighting dog maybe not. He is leggy for a pit bull; pit bull enthusiasts always ask "what's he mixed with?"
Maggie was rescued as a from an outfit called "out of the pits" in upstate new york. We haven't tested her DNA. She is closer to the expected conformation for a staffordshire terrier (the kennel club breed that means "pit bull") but is definitely a backyard bred dog.
Anyway, I hope your friends look into petfinder and search their "pit bull mix" category. Lots of gorgeous dogs that look like Charlie, who need homes.
