Humans and other old world primates

Zookeeper Brandi trains Little Joe.

Brandi's tattoo. (It's actually Okie's foot.)

Joe shows "stiff stance" with a "tight lip" face. (Huh?)

Kimani and Kira watch their mother Kiki holding her two day old infant.

The new baby. The baby's sex is still unknown at this time.

Elsewhere in the tropical forest, Ushindi sits at the front of the exhibit, while his mother Tammie is at the back. They are mandrills.

because of the reflection it looks like Brandi's face is on Little Joe.

I remember seeing the Gorillas at the Toronto Zoo. One looked at me over his shoulder with such distain I felt ashamed.

Yes, I thought the same thing when I saw the first picture. Awesome.

Disdain seems to be their default expression. I think it's the big brow.

I like how Brandi's on both sides of the glass. This is what happens when you mix in a little frog DNA into your cloning experiments! Or as Janet Kagan might quip, watch out for blood-red flowers! (Have you read Mirabile?)
