I'm not complaining, it's just interesting

Last winter, I somehow got the odor of giraffe urine into my snowboots. Yesterday they were soaking wet after lots of walking in deep snow, so I put them on the radiator to dry. I just picked them up and was greeted with fresh-baked funk.

(Giraffe urine is curiously close to cat spray in odor tone. A little earthier, less acrid, but still powerfully musky and persistent.)

Are your giraffes housed on concrete in their night quarters? The giraffes at Perth Zoo get concrete inside with plenty of straw and dirt outside. The male giraffe would pee huge puddles on the concrete, and then he'd shit everywhere and tread on it and grind it into the concrete. Bitch to clean up after.

Yes, all that plus our floors are heated, so the trod-on pee-poop slurry bakes overnight.
