Trash at the zoo. The big wheel is from the set of Zookeeper.

Tomorrow I'm bringing in my computer to have the hard drive upgraded. I'm kind of worried about it, worried that putting a bigger hard drive in won't fix it, and I'll have spent a lot of money for nothing. Or worse, that something will go wrong in the process and I'll lose the computer or some data or something. Just being without the computer for the day is making me nervous, which is stupid, because if I was going to work I'd be without it for the day. It seems fairly possible that I could be without the computer for the weekend, which wouldn't be the end of the world. Typing this out is amusing me--talk about your first world problems! To think that I used to say that I'd never own a computer. Now the thought of being without one makes me anxious.

The very thought gives me the heebie-jeebies, which is why I have N+1 computers, where N is the integer at which I no longer panic.

do a back up and transfer everything you need to a USB stick, ask them to return the old hard drive to you without erasing it... that way no matter how bad it goes you'll have what you need.
