My employers treated us to an "outing" at the Boston Nature Center.

This map inside the Nature Center shows the Emerald necklace (the long green chain of city parks that runs through the city). The upper right most part of the chain is Boston Commons and the Public Garden. The straight part running west is Commonwealth Ave. The wiggly part is the Muddy River running through the Fenway and the Riverway (hey that's where I live!) The big pond is Jamaica pond and the tiny pond just above it is Ward's pond, which
cottonmanifesto and I go to a lot, and post pictures of a lot. Below the pond is Arnold Arboretum. To the east of the Arboretum is Franklin Park. The orange part of the map, just below Franklin Park, is the Boston Nature Center. I like the urban wildlife included in the map design: red-tailed hawk, blue jay, eastern cottontail.

I made a joke about "wild edibles" and was immediately challenged! They even offered to go get the butter and garlic.

Flowers don't look right to me, without a pollenator on them.

You can see the three little eyes between her two big eyes!
