Last Fall Picures

With this past week of 20 degree below normal temperatures, I think we can call Autumn officially over, despite the calendar claiming there's four more weeks of it. These pictures are from last week. It seems so long ago. This is a callery pear tree, one of the prettiest and most stubborn foliage plantings.

Last mushrooms?

Last Sunday my Dad and I encountered this lovely bloom of Pleurotus and Coprinus mushrooms together. The Coprinus mushrooms are surely turned to black goo by now, and the Pleurotus are probably flash frozen on the tree (unless some mycophage harvested them).
