With this past week of 20 degree below normal temperatures, I think we can call Autumn officially over, despite the calendar claiming there's four more weeks of it. These pictures are from last week. It seems so long ago. This is a callery pear tree, one of the prettiest and most stubborn foliage plantings.

Pretty even on the wet pavement.

Or on my car.

Our here in California, we haven't declared summer over. I must admit that 70+F days are much more enjoyable than below 40.

Beautiful fall colors for you. Out here it's been even more subtle than usual.

Autumn always goes by too quickly for me. Over here, we still have a few trees clinging to their green leaves, despite the freezing weather, while most of the forest is bare.

Had our first daytime high temp <70 here yesterday. Funny to see all the locals run for their puffy winter coats because it was 57. :)

They're starting to worry about snow, too. It seems the last snowfall (circa 2002) really through folks for a loop. You know, before it all melted around noon.

Well, at least you don't have the snow we have here in western PA. : (

I wish I would have taken more time to enjoy the fall. Your pictures do help in that matter though. Kind of gives me the opportunity to stop and smell the....fallen leaves.

Anyhow, thanks!
