Something has got to happen to that hair.

My computer is in the capable hands of the Computer Loft, having a giant hard drive installed and the data transferred and the operating system upgraded. Alexis has kindly lent me hers as she does dogsitting overnights, so I get to update a little bit. I posted a friends-only bad attitude post from work yesterday, inspired by well--being at work on a Saturday, and getting a load of surprise work of the "undo someone else's mistake" variety.

But I'm at home with Alexis now, about to go out and enjoy a sunny but chilly day. I've got some nice photos of new wild urban places to share, once I get my computer back.

Just down the street from our new house is one of two standing buildings that used to be mills on Mother Brook. This one is now a condominium complex.

Alexis wanted a picture of Maggie playing in the light snow that fell last week.

I seem to be struck with some kind of cold. I won't bore you with a list of my symptoms, but I feel cruddy enough that I've already called my coworker to warn him that I won't be in. I expect to spend the day shuffling about and groaning in a hoarse voice, pausing occasionally to scrape my nostril with increasingly rough sheets of toilet tissue. I'll also schedule a visit to the Dedham town hall to get a permit for burning stuff in my yard, and I'll hopefully be able to ransom my computer back. I have to again thank wonderful wife for lending me her computer, with which I'm able to write this post and listen to Wait Wait Don't Tell me at the same time--a combination of tasks that would crash my computer, pre-upgrade. Hopefully after tomorrow I can do similar feats of 21st century computing.
