I need some context. What is it?

I'm guessing some kind of small mammalian skull.

I can't really tell, though.

Sorry, the context picture was no good. It's a raccoon; the whole carcass was there, but the extremites were skeletonized.

It looks magical.

The river receded? It keeps getting higher and higher here!

I can't tell what that is, but it looks gross.

Yeah, the Muddy went down a few feet. Looks like the Merrimack and many of the others are going to get 8 feet higher before the whole thing is over. How are you doing? I see that they closed rt. 1 and a lot of others, and closed schools up on the north shore and southeast NH. I hope you aren't suffering from all this.

(see comment above for object id)

I noticed one of the roads near school was closed off last night, and I think campus might be closing early today, which would kind of be a pain... the area where I live is high enough that I don't think anything but the bike path will flood.

Some important identifiers are obscured, but the eye socket looks most like a squirrel to me.

I kept a collection of just such items found in the wild, when I was a kid. In cigar boxes, no less.

What a strange little girl I must have been!

I'm sure if the mandible and teeth were visible, you would have identified it as a raccoon immediately. But I didn't give any size or context clues. (see above comment for more info)

Wow, great find!

I'm not usually squeamish when i encounter dead things, but this one, maybe because of the wetness, made my stomach do a little flip!
