On November 6th I said "...the chances that it will produce fruit that will survive to allow the plant to reproduce are slim. New England temperatures will undoubtedly plummet some time before tomatoes ripen on this plant."

Hah!

The evening before Halloween I chopped back all of my herb plants, my romaine, and my tomato, leaving the flowers and about half of the (originally 6 foot tall) tomato plant with the assumption that it would frost that night, or soon after, and that would be the end of the garden. Unseasonably warm weather and the added bonus of being sheltered on 3 sides by my aparment building have conspired to give me a whole new crop of flowers and fruit, and the tomato's still blooming.

Who'd have guessed?

I think they dug up the "wild" tomato plant growing adjacent to the side walk near my house. They put in some ornamental landscaping. Meh, it's pretty, but I can't eat it! =(

And why won't my habanero plants flower? I wonder if they are too crowded...

You can collect the tomatoes (even the green ones) and keep them in paper in a cool, dark place. They should ripen by winter solstice. But they'll go mushy if there's been a hard freeze already (which looks like not because the leaves are still ok).
