As I commented to [livejournal.com profile] richmackin, from whom I stole this meme, now that I've added a couple zookeepers to my friends list, I don't think I can do this meme successfully.

...And if [livejournal.com profile] aemiis_zoo decides to do this meme, I have a suggestion...

Ten Things I've Done That You Probably Haven't

1) Rode a bike on the frozen surface of the Charles River.

2) Chopped (well, beat) a bike into a mess with a dull axe and tossed it off the Allston footbridge.

3) Killed a litter of adorable baby raccoons.

4) Snorkeled the beach of one of the Galapagos islands.

5) Rode a bike off a stage into an audience.

6) A pagan divorce.

7) Spoon-fed my mother like she was an infant.

8) Deterred a mugger from attacking my father in Rio de Janeiro.

9) Lost my wallet in Denali National Park.

10) Wore an artficial pouch containing a juvenile wallaby.

Wow! My life seems much more interesting than before I started this!

I just posted that same meme today...pardon the cross posting here...

10 things I've done that you probably haven't.

1. Met Def Leppard. (Ok, so I know someone else who has done this too *clears throat*)
2. Been bitten by a black rat snake and a milk snake (Pueblan).
3. Gotten paid to wrangle small alligators.
4. Picked up a bloke at a small pub in Near Sawrey, England.
5. Traveled across the US (3,200) miles in a truck with my dad in 3 days.
6. Gotten really drunk at a party and punched a dude out, knocking him down onto the floor, for saying "Def Leppard sucks".
7. Gotten really drunk at my cousin's house in Michigan, hugged a tree, and screamed in German so loud that I woke up my aunt and uncle.
8. Gotten stopped by security at a record shop in the mall without having stolen anything. *wink* (Ok, so someone was with me at the time too.)
9. Been parasailing.
10. Been urinated on by a barn owl, a Northern flying squirrel, and a California desert tortoise.

(Disclaimer: For the record, I don't get "really drunk" anymore. I was young and silly then. I know my limits now.)

Just for hoo-has, I thought I'd compare. Here's as close as I've come on your 10.

1. Well, I rented their complete music video collection at least twice, that must count for something. Hey, I used to listen to "Hysteria" on my audio tape walkman!
2. Eastern milk snake and Mexican rosy boa for me.
3. Only did this as a volunteer (so far!).
4. Made out with a (strange) girl at a punk show.
5. With my brother, and it took much longer (like 8 days or something).
6. Been very drunk pretty often. Never had to defend Def Leppard or come to blows over anything.
7-9. Nope.
10. Oh, the urinating animals! Woodchucks, various turtles, rats and cats and toads oh my!

cross country travel

It was six or seven days, but it seemed like eight because Dave wanted to listen to that LoTR tape as we traveled across interminable Nebraska. I actually can only remember by thinking about where we slept.
1. Motel in upstate NY
2. Lovely campground with a view of a nuke plant
3.? Did we actually sleep at Kopaz's house? I have pictures of you in Chicago so it seems we must have, but I seem to have blocked it out.
4. A rain sodden campground in Nebraska. where apparently, the squirrells stole Dave's shampoo.
5. In a snow dappled campground in Colorado. which took us too long to get to because we tried to drive up capital I on the map.
6. Outside of Moab Utah, where the tent was attacked by our crazed imaginations.
From there, A straight rocket run from to Vegas.

I'm glad we had that trip, weird as it was.

3. Yeah we were there for what seemed like a week unto itself. Nothing like a detour into suburbia to slow a trip down (although it was nice to sleep indoors, on a bed.)

5. and ice INSIDE the tent.

*wonders what the squirrels would do with the shampoo*
*wonders if it was botanical scented*

Sweet! =)

I figured some of the keeper types out there would have been bitten and peed on by various animals (job hazard and all), that's why I specified species.
