Capron Park Zoo!

Capron Park Zoo is a small zoo in Attleboro Massachusetts, near Rhode Island. It's the closest zoo to me that I hadn't been to yet (now York's Wild Kingdom holds that place), and a former coworker is a zookeeper there. In fact, I've met most of the staff from this zoo, owing to our regular zookeeper meet ups! I thoroughly enjoyed this zoo, which was clean and attractive, providing a lot of value for a relatively small space. Their lions look very different from the one at Franklin Park--a different subspecies I think.

I'd never heard of or seen these amazing Beatles-wig hogs! It's actually called The Visayan warty pig, Sus cebifrons, and is a critically endangered species from two small islands of the Philippines.

Exciting to me to see for the first time: Japanese macaque! They have an elderly couple who spend a lot of time avoiding each other, apparently.

I didn't think a bear could look goofier than the black bears I'm taking care of now, but this sloth bear proved me wrong.

This screamer came right over--friendly?

Actually, no. He came over to peck at me. I hear he doesn't like men.

Their tropical forest exhibit had these big beautiful flying foxes.

Lookin' at me lookin' at you!

This robin-chat perched right in front of us and performed a beautiful song.

We got the big zookeeper hook-up: a chance to into the exhibit and...

...feed the momma sloth!
