We are in Narsarsuaq, Greenland. Greenland isn't as bleak as you've been led to believe, at least not in Summer. "Welcome to sunny southern Greenland," has been a standard greeting here since the Americans built a military base here (at the Greelanders' request) in 1941. I can't explain what this park bench is for, but it does give you a nice view of the runway, if that's what you are into.





Our "easy" hike had some interesting challenges.


We took a wrong turn and ended up in a dry bog. The spongy moss was shin-deep, and I felt bad walking on it, although it was kind of cool.


As usual, I was the only one crawling around on the ground to get pictures of small things.


The big picture view was admittedly more impressive.

We saw lots of bluebells. We learned you can eat them, and make jelly from them.


Our primary objective: get to the vantage point to see the glacier. Secondary: keep my dad from falling off the mountain. Good job on number one, B- on number two, but we got back uninjured.
