Last week I went to see Rhea Butcher and Cameron Esposito do stand up at Johnny D's in Somerville. Afterward I waited in line to take this terrible picture of us all together. Actually this picture was taken by my friend Brittany who was nice enough to give me her extra ticket. The picture that the comedians and I are taking with my phone is truly awful. I was in a hurry because I didn't want to inconvenience the famous people.

Every year around this time we have our annual visit to our awesome tax lady, but this is the first time our appointment has happened at 3:00. We're good about over-paying during the year so we get a nice big refund. Sorry libertarian friends, but the government does a better job of saving my money than I do.

On Thursday I left work a little early to go do my taxes. Here I am puzzling out how to pay for parking--a new system had been installed since the last time I was there. By the way, if anyone in the Boston area--especially small business people, artists, musicians, and such--needs someone to help them with their taxes or other money-related issues, please contact Diane O'Brien, my tax lady for more than a decade now. In sad news, since I flaked out on making an appointment ahead of time, I had to go solo, cheating us out of our annual tax date.

You know how for a while I was posting snapshots that looked like stills from horror movies? There are a lot of creepy places that I get myself into while doing pest control. It would be hard to judge which was creepiest, but this place is definitely a finalist:

Thanks to klingonlandlady a new lj friend who is somehow associated with these lunatics. I need to get out more--I didn't know this sort of thing was happening in the streets of Somerville.

It's so rare for cottonmanifesto and I to go out and see the city together, so our filing our taxes was a good excuse. Here's a set of pictures--all hers because my camera seems to be gone. :( But it's not all bad news...( Read more... )
